A Gift from the Boswellia Tree:

Loban is the dried resin of the Boswellia tree, native to dry, arid regions like the Arabian Peninsula and parts of India. When tapped, the tree produces a milky sap that hardens into these unique, tear-shaped pieces.

Instructions:

Burning incense: The most common way to use frankincense resin is to burn it as incense. You can use a special incense burner or place the resin on a piece of charcoal.

Prepare your burner: Place your incense burner on a heat-resistant surface.

Light the charcoal: Hold the charcoal tablet with tongs (if using) or carefully light the edge with a lighter. It will spark and eventually glow red hot.

Place the charcoal in the burner: Once the charcoal is glowing red, carefully place it in the designated area of your incense burner.

Add the frankincense resin: Once the charcoal is hot, use tongs (if using) to add a small piece of frankincense resin (about the size of a pea) on top of the hot charcoal.
Enjoy the aroma: As the resin heats up, it will release the fragrant smoke of frankincense.

Tips:

Start with a small amount of resin, as you can always add more for a stronger scent.
The resin will eventually burn down and turn to ash. You can add more pieces of resin as needed to maintain the scent.
Be sure to properly extinguish the charcoal when finished. You can either let it cool completely on its own, or carefully smother it with sand or ash once it has stopped glowing.
Always ventilate the area while burning incense.
